It certainly sounds that way to me, and I've watched it a few times to be sure.

I'm one of the first sci-fi geeks to admit that the Star Trek franchise, while groundbreaking, is nowadays behind the curve of what is "good" sci-fi, and could stand an update or three. I've not seen anything horribly alarming yet, and am still looking forward to the film. Too bad they pushed it back from this winter.
