Presidential Punditry

A couple weeks ago, Atrios posted this:

Shorter Candidates

Obama: The system sucks, but I'm so awesome that it'll melt away before me.

Edwards: The system sucks, and we're gonna have to fight like hell to destroy it.

Clinton: The system sucks, and I know how to work within it more than anyone.

I know that I'm probably committing political blasphemy here in the state of Illinois, but the more I read about Obama and his "post-partisan" rhetoric, the more I don't think he'll make a good presidential candidate, let alone president. You can look all over the liberal blogosphere for reasoning like this, but the long and short is that the GOP isn't going to stop being partisan, so we definitely need to keep tacking Left, and not towards the center, if the we want any sort of progressive agenda enacted. Clinton is herself much too wedded to the "centrist" mold that she and her husband created - and again, tacking to the center is exactly what this country, and the Democratic party, does not need.

This leaves Edwards, the only one of the three leading candidates to actually say that we need to do progressive things now. If only he could make enough noise to keep the media attention on him more.
